Whimsical, not whimsy

Just a collection of sketches I've been doing recently of my newest race/species, the Moor. Essentially fungus cells that gain in intelligence in larger colonies, they either take over or contract with another species, forming an entirely new creature, before changing form again later by covering themselves in black plates [top left]. The creatures included here are the Bathias, a race of light-orb-generating caterpillars of high intelligence that choose to contract, and a tortoise and a horse, both of which forcibly taken over [and therefore have less refined forms, due to needing to concentrate on retaining control over their animals].

Fantasy Character Orthographic Design
For an assignment we were to design a female character under a fantasy theme.
Having done a planning silhouette of a bizarre, twisted figure, I decided to draw an assassin with contortionist abilities. Movement-wise, the character moves in a form of ragdoll movement paired with a spider.

Digital Painting/Environment wip 1
To keep track of my progress on this, I'll be posting works in progress images of this project. I'll be painting a church-like interior, for a type of underground, cave-like society's religious center. As branching projects, I'm designing characters to accompany the setting, as well as modelling it in 3D.

Real First Post/Monkey King
As is my tradition to start major projects at the transition between months, I hereby [seriously] start this blog. My previous post was merely an opportunity for me to act silly, which I often can't be bothered to do.
This blog will be an outlet for my art, both works in progress and fully finished works. Alongside the art I'll be posting vents, shall we say, in which I'll use this blog to, for lack of a better term, blather on about concepts, observations, and ideas I have. These will come few and far between however, because I rarely get good enough ideas to talk at length about.
That being said, I'll post my first serious piece of art.
As an exercise, I was doing several sketches and silhouettes of human character poses. This particular one struck me however, and I decided to develop it further based on the character I was originally planning it for. Inspired by the concept and art of the Monkey King, I did this tribal warrior.
If the contrast is too dark, I apologize: this is somewhat of an in-between for work in progress and finished piece. It works alright enough on its own, but I'd still like to touch it up some, such as the contrast. For those who can't see, he does not have a tail, but has more a braid of long hair that hooks onto his belt strap.

First post of all time forever
As the title suggests, this is my first post of all time forever. At no other point in my life after this will I have an even remotely preemptive post as this one here. I suppose I should try and make it worth something. Something important, something funny.
...Nope. Can't do it. Not funny enough.
Want to.
Probably should.
Can't.
But should.
Here's a poorly drawn dragon-riding unicorn being ridden by a bagel-stealing purple cat minus the dragon. The cat is obviously enjoying itself.
